Project Scope:

Hoist and set five 18-ton transformers and associated switch gear.

GTI was called on to hoist and set the five transformers and switch gear for the first building to be resurrected at Ground Zero. GTI used its ingenuity to save the client and the owner tremendous labor costs by delivering and hoisting the switch gear line-ups in complete sections, rather than conventionally in pieces which require intense reconnecting at the job site. A spreader bema and rigging platform were designed and constructed to hold the switch gear, then “roll” the units off directly onto housekeeping pads for a clean delivery.
